A brief duo interlude amongst the ~ 2.5 hour maelstrom that was the Josh Smith Trio (Josh Smith- drums, tenor sax, piano; Eric Vogler- guitar, bass; me- scatting) at the Blackbird Cafe in Inverness, CA, 4/27/12. This is Josh on tenor and me doing my usual over Charlie Parker's Yardbird Suite. I sound a little shaky in the beginning, I think, but we get into something approximating a groove eventually. Great fun playing with Josh!! His unbridled approach provides a welcome counterpoint to my own, often-times, sickeningly bridled approach.
