From the recording Interview with Alison Niedbalski, part 2
2nd part of the massive interview with Alison conducted on 6/8/11.
This part deals with: 1. my aims as an "artist", 2. what is "jazz"?, and 3. a discussion of my view of the scene in the bay area (with limited comparisons to the scene in NY). There is one flub here that should be corrected: In mentioning the bassist Marcus Shelby, I incorrectly refer to him as a NY cat, when I meant to say that he was based in San Francisco. Just a slip.
